About Boating Safety (ABS)
We currently do not have one scheduled
Cost is $20.00 for one student, $25.00 for two students sharing one book.
We strongly recommend that students obtain book and study material in advance of class meeting.

Boaters, do you know your legal responsibilities on water? Know the age requirements and responsibilities for young boaters? Know what equipment is required on board? Can you "read" buoys, day markers and charts? Know how to handle emergencies? Know safe mooring techniques? How to tie a knot that stays tied?
These and other topics will be addressed at an "About Boating Safety" taught by experienced Coast Guard Auxiliary Instructors.
The class meets requirements for young boaters (ages 12 through 17) who are required to obtain certification before operating personal watercraft or other boats solo.
The class will meet from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with a break for lunch. A fee of $20.00 will cover textbooks and exams. Provisions can be made for two persons using the same textbook.
Most insurance companies offer discounts on boat insurance to boat owners who successfully pass this course.
To register and receive study materials before the class begins, call 753-4934 or 354-9966 no later than February 10.
